FALLING WATER FOOTAGE
a little precursor:
The reason I rarely post my tv work online is because although my intentions are honest and geared toward the growth of our community as humankind, my feelings about most of hollywood and the nature of most tv programming have me focused on sharing other things with you all, that center more around all encompassing love and positivity.
.
This role on Falling Water, however, had me gassed up for a couple reasons.
1. It focuses on the dangers of sex trafficking, by shining light on how easily it is to be tricked. It highlights the aspect of asking for help. in many situations, the police blame the person being trafficked because they feel that person chose their fate for financial stability, even if they were kidnapped. It’s an incredibly difficult situation to get out of and MILLIONS of women are being trafficked today.
2. I AM NOT WEARING ANY MAKEUP! 💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽
Which has never happened to me and it’s incredible. Here I have No foundation, no liner, no blush, no lipstick, no eyebrows, just this funky ass fire tattoo. feeling this pure slayage. anyone working in cable tv knows how rare this is, the media ALWAYS trying to coverup “blemishes” 👀
3. This scene, while there is a lot of talking, I chose to show more reactions instead because actors sometimes take for granted the truth of our character in that, he or she is gong through this, whether were channeling them or not. The writer spoke on this issue for some reason, and if they didnt, it’s our job to find a reason, to make our jobs worthwhile for more than just ourselves. There is a person out there looking for answers on where to go and who to trust because they’ve been taken advantage of. Say a police officer on a trafficking case watches this and gains some sympathy for a trafficked person they didn’t believe before, a potential life saved. When you are on screen, you are speaking for millions. I’m proud to say in this project they focused on that, and not how pretty I should look, or how many words should come out of my perfectly liplined mouth.
